Crust:
Bread flour: 2 cups
yeast: one pack
salt: one tsp
sugar: one tsp
olive oil: 2 tbsp
Toppings:
Cheese : 2 cupsRed and green peppers: cut lengthwise one cup
olives: 1/4 cups
fresh basil: one tsp
Sauce:
Crushed tomatoes: one cup
Italian seasoning: one tbsp
black pepper: one tsp
olive oil: one tbsp
Method:
Warm the water on stove and add the sugar to it. add the yeast and let it rise for 10 minutes.
Add the salt and olive oil to the flour. Add the yeast water to the flour and knead it well.
Place the dough in a air tight container and store in a warm place.(prefer placing inside the oven with only lights on)
Let the dough rise double the size which might take about 6-7 hours.
meanwhile, place a pan on the stove add olive oil and when it is hot and not fuming add pepper and Italian spices and the crushed tomatoes. let it boil for 4 minutes. cool it and store.
when the dough is ready punch down for one minute and roll into round crust, for thin crust roll into 1/4 inch roll. for thicker crust roll thickly.
Place the rolled crust on a pizza pan. Spread the sauce on the crust. Spread the cut veggies on the sauce. sprinkle the grated cheese on the veggies. sprinkle the thinly chopped fresh basil on top.
Bake in an oven at 350 degrees for 30 minute or till cheese bubbles and turns golden brown.
Variations: You can add veggies like pineapple, mushrooms, eggplant etc according to your choice.
This recipe yields a large pizza.
