As this one stays fresh longer this is our travel food most of the time. I always make them and pack for our flight trips to India So much better than the flight food. This recipe has all the spices in it which makes it easy to be consumed during travel without any side dishes.
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat flour - 3 cups
- Fresh or frozen methi - one cup
- Sesame seeds - one tbsp
- Oregano seeds - one tbsp
- Cumin powder - one tsp
- Chilly powder - one tsp
- Water - 2 cups
- Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
- oil - 2 tbsp
Directions
- If you are using frozen methi let it defrost and come to room temperature
- If used fresh methi wash them well and remove the roots and stem and minch the leaves and keep aside
- Warm the water on the stove with salt
- Add the fresh/frozen methi, sesame seeds, oregano seeds, cumin powder, chilly powder, salt and oil to the wheat flour.
- Add the warm water to the above mix and knead into nice dough
- Set it aside for about 30 mins
- After 30 minutes roll the dough into small balls to a size of a big lemon.
- Dust the surface with some dry flour and roll them into then round rotis
- Cook them on a griddle/tawa with some ghee or oil

- This recipe stays fresh if covered with a soft cotton cloth and store in air tight container.
