Imagine 8.2 billion pieces of meat used so technically thousands of cows and pigs killed. But why?? just to satisfy this 4 inch tongue? those animals deserve to be treated better. How different are they from our pets at home. Can you consider having you cat for lunch and dog for dinner one day. How different are these animals. What harm did they do to us?
There are several meatless options in this world. Unfortunately i will not be able to replace all of them right now but let me keep this first step of giving you a healthy treat to satisfy your taste buds. If one person gives up meat reading this blog that will serve the purpose of my blog. So please even if you are a vegetarian consider forwarding this to your friend who might try to replace his hamburger at least for a day sparing a poor animal.Ingredients:
Boiled mashed potatoes - 4
Boiled mashed potatoes - 4
grated carrots - 1/2 cup
grated cabbage - 1/4 cup
grated peppers - 1/2 cup
boiled corn/peas - 1/2 cup
minched green chilly - 2 tsp
sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
oregano seeds - 2 tbsp
cumin powder - 1 tbsp
cilantro finely chopped - half bunch
boiled soy/garbanzo beans - 1/4 cup
corn starch - 1/2 cup
salt to taste
- mix the mashed potatoes and all the veggies together and mix them well.
- run the soy or garbanzo beans in the food processor until smooth and mix with the above mix. Don't add water when grinding.
- add the salt spices, chillies, cilantro, sesame seeds and corn starch.
- Do not mix any water.
- take burger mix size of an orange and make a Pattie. If the mix seems to break don't hesitate to add more corn starch.
- Now place it on the grill or griddle and roast them to your desired color..
- Assemble a burger with buns, slice of cheese, sliced cucumber, sliced tomato, piece of green leaf lettuce and a hot veggie Pattie and serve.
This looks like the one you made for us at the bbq dinner. Yummmy! Enjoyed it. We continued to enjoy the left overs you gave us as well.
